This is kind of amazing. I just found a newsgroup post from the 90s where a guy is claiming to have seen the "Fatalities enabled" cheat in action, but no one believes him.

Where did the cheat search go in the latest versions of mame? What special/old (ugh!) version of MAME do I need to be able to use the cheat search via the debugger? "ci" is an unknown command. "help" indicates that there are no cheat related commands whatsoever. How do we search ...
