Just to correct something just incase people miss understood pugsy's original post Not only do you have to unzip the zop file itself you also have to unzip the zip file in the zip file and call it 'cheat' within the same directory as the mame exe easier way of doing it is open the downloaded cheat z...

I am having the same problems, the cheat option in mame doesnt show up on the internal menu (i am using the UI version, with the enable game cheats thing selected) there is no cheat option on the mame ui once a rom had been loaded i am using the cheat.zip mentioned in this and other threads elsewher...
