Thanks, the problem with the NES cheats are that they are straight conversions of GG codes.....so there will always be little issues as the GG codes can be a bit hit and miss. A lot of the NES GG codes didn't include the checkbyte which is essential with paging or you can experience crashes later in...

Thanks that'll be ideal for the old schoolers. I converted a lot of the decent/useful NES GG codes to xml format a while back but there are a lot of GG codes out there for the various systems which I doubt we will ever be able to collate otherwise - far too many games and far too little time.

Feature not a bug, immediate numbers with a leading zero are interpreted as octal now. The plugin doesn't replicate that (and hopefully won't have to). Luckily the leading zero is not taken as octal, it needs to be 0o. The problem here was 0B, which since a few releases ago is the prefix for binary...

Not used wpi myself, but I guess it depends on what you are trying to do exactly I guess.

For Gorf, the credit pulse happens when D009=1 and it does D003++ and then sets D009=0.

Thanks, it's a MAME bug rather than the cheat engine though....it seems it no longer handles leading zeroes properly in condition fields. Odd. Use the lua plugin cheat engine (Plugins>Cheat from the MAME menu)...it works fine in that. Alternatively change all three:- maincpu.pb@124035==04 OR maincpu...

Thanks, that's been on a lot of people's wish list since it went AWOL from the cheat engine a few years back. Works a treat, a lot easier to setup the key now too.

0.186 XML Cheat Collection is OUT!

I know MAME 0.186 is not out till tomorrow, but I figured I'd release it early for a change. The highlight of this release is cheats for a majority of the games in the PSX softwarelist, obviously I've not made the cheats myself as I've neither the time or the chds. But I'm happy the conversion to XM...

Thanks added. I've added a comment as the weapon cheat also gives a sort of invincibility as if you get hit you drop down a weapon level and only die if you have no powered up weapon.

Also added some rapid fire cheats.

Thanks, fixed. Nice spot with the 16 bit jump address at ff0954.

I've also fixed the other clones with a similar issue - daimakai was c34a and ghoulsu was c378 rather than c31c.

That cheat format is out of the ark....use a newer MAME. You can't convert it properly as that format doesn't support masking which the XML cheat uses.

The credits address is part of the DECO146 protection, when the game is running open up a memory window CTRL+M. Change maincpu to DECO 146 Protection/:ioprot/0/m_rambank0 If you then change address 42 you will see the credits will change (as will the contents of address 1a00f7 in the maincpu) Basica...

The cheat format in 0.36 predates the above format, eg:

shdancer:0:FFEB0A:9A:000:Infinite Lives PL1

It did not support ROM cheats.
