There were no unlockable characters in the arcade version of Tekken 1. The only way to play as the sub bosses is through MAME cheats, and all the cheats you need are in the cheat file.

Currently the game has a code to select the level of your fire and give yourself multiple heads, but no code to select the type of powerup (ie spread, dragon, homing). A code for powerup selection exist for Dragon Spirit so its likely possible in this game as well.

Could it be possible that the Smoke smoking effect is a special move that is immediatly used by the CPU as soon as the match starts, and has an effect which last the whole match? That would explain why he doesn't smoke until the match starts. From what I've read about the classic MK games the CPU is...

Activating cheats online won't make any real difference because the cheats won't be activated on the other person's computer. It depends on how the game's characters are programmed, although more than likely its not a possibility.

Using the debugger I've found some text that is used for a player select debug. Is there anyway any of you could help me find the activator for it, I'm inexperienced with the new MAME debug thingie and having trouble.

Since Jade was never intended to be human controlled its likely they didn't even bother touching up her sprite after it was recolored. The CPU algorithm would rarely use things humans do.

My plan is to find a walking speed modifier and the value that makes a character smoke (like smoke or when hit by certain projectiles) to make a more accurate play as Smoke code.
