Oh, I can see how I confused you, when I mentioned attaching Cheat Engine, I meant cheatengine.org.
Thanks for the help, poking via the debugger will definitely save a lot of time.
Is there anyway to view the decrypted cpu memory with the memory viewer inside of mame's debugger?

Re: Z6800 asm
Thanks Pugsy! I also wanted to ask is it possible to write to the decrypted CPU memory section with the current cheat engine? I did some searching and saw this feature was removed due to a memory rewrite in mame 102u (I think). I can't seem to find any commands or can confirm if it was ever re-added...

68000 asm
Hi is there anywhere like irc to get a hold others that know a lot about z68000? I'm trying to reverse engineer some items in some cps2, such as getting character "special/normal" move damage because the game seems "random", but I'm sure it grabs the values from a table in ROM an...

Finding cheats such as "Easy special moves for xxx char"
How are these cheats found? Such as doing a raging demon with one button when the super meter is full. I notice a few fighting games have these codes and I've taken look at them. I'm guessing they modify they modify the move that occurs when a button is pressed but I'm curious how to find them so I ...

Samurai Shodown III problems...
Using the beta .dat file for mame 0.127, samurai showdown gets a work ram error on startup. It's definatley from the cheats because turning them off fixes it. I'm unaware of the new xml format but I'm assuming there is a code on that messes the game up. Not sure how to fix it, but thought I'd post t...

Finding Moon Jump and Invinciblity...
How is this done? I've always tried to find these values for games and never can, I know for invincibility you need to find that moment when your character can't be harmed, like when you die and are respawned but don't know exactly how to do this. Delays? How is this found? For instance, the delay i...
