Thanks Ian. At least it will allow work to start on some MESS cheat files now 8) Hopefully, there will be volunteers to look after them - I'll have a go at some of the systems with not so many games to start with. I take it will be included in the next cheat source download...? And Bugfinder......??...

Thanks

Thanks for the birthday greetings. From now on I'm gonna write my age in the same format as the cheat file. So I'm now 0020 or just plain 20 ;-) I'll take this opportunity to wish Steph Happy Birthday too...as I recall it's his birthday today or tomorrow. I won't bother writing his age in cheat form...

Thanks for all the fixes :) PS: Have you had a chance at looking at making the cheat engine utilise the MESS crc32s yet? No; procrastinating. I'll do it soon, really I will. Where do I get the checksum from? The crcs are stored in the \crc folder by system name. Eg nes.crc looks like:- # Nintendo En...

THanks for the fixes, downloading the source now :D Oh one thing I forgot to mention, a large number of continuous comment lines will not all display with either the arrows or page up/down. To see what I mean paste these cheats over the current cheat for the game apparel and you'll see that the look...

Advanced search dialogue

Can you change the order of the menu in the Advanced Search Dialogue to make it easier to understand from the off. Current Order:- Value LHS RHS Comparison Suggested Order:- LHS Comparison RHS Value Also I think it may be better to lose the 'LHS' & 'Comparison' & 'RHS' text displayed. Just having th...

Some more bugs..

Just a couple of quickies that I've just spotted. Tested with the game daraku. 1. If you do a new TIMER cheat search with anything other than 00 in the LIVES value you will get 0 results returned. Even although it's a new TIMER search! 2. ESC and TAB don't go back a menu on Timer & Lives searches (n...

You either do a find and replace (there is better text editors than wordpad with more advanced find and replace functions) or you wait for the next cheat file release....if Pugsy ever get's his thumb out of his ar53 :o NOTE: The example you give will work as a straightforward rename but other games ...

I'd love to get some pokes for the D&D games, like Curse of the Azure Bonds, Pool Of Radiance, etc..... love those games. Yuk RPGS I hated them. If I can play it without a manual I'll do it . Please supply:- Url (one game at a time please) + what cheats would you like (specific for each game please...

I vaguely recall something being mentioned about you adding a feature so that when somebody pressed enter on a SET cheat there would be some way of making the user aware that the cheat had been poked... don't recall how it was going to be done. Either way at the moment there is still no indication. ...

One little thing...

Looking good....One thing you've missed there is no way of displaying the extra comment info. Shift Return/Return doesn't so anything..

More reports as I spot 'em.

And some more

And some more bugs/ideas:- 4. When you 'S' the cheat it save it to the top of the cheat file and it gradually overwrites the cheat file line by line. Just needs to be changed to the old append method hopefully. 5. Pressing W(atch) on a cheat doesn't work if it's a ROM cheat - it does nothing. I use ...

Bugs with the new Cheat Engine

Ok here's some bugs with the new cheat engine (0.59 mamew compile). Tests done with 'commando' and the latest cheat.dat (from my sig). 1. Each cheat description has a square character at the end of each line. 2. On the Edit Cheat Menu pressing the left and right arrow keys will cause MAME to crash o...

Well I think it's time I did some more cheat finding. And play with the new cheat engine, cheers Ian :) And kelvSYC the idea about reducing the size of the cheat.dat file by using the clone relationship has a few problems. Not all clones have the same cheats (especially ROM cheats) - so they would h...

Yes it's mainly a syntax checker. Though it's more advanced than a mere syntax checker. Download it from the tools section and have a play with a MAME older than 0.59.

Thanks

Thanks for the cheats. On closer inspection there appears to be a problem with the kof96 and kof97 cheats for PL1. The current cheats for these games start 1 byte lower than the ones you've given. Eg 10A846 in cheat file for kof 96 (PL1 1st Char) becomes 10A847 in the ones you've posted. Which are c...

The maximum size is 80 x 80 pixels - filesize is a maximum of 6K.....I can change it to something bigger but I'd prefer to keep the size to a minimum to keep page loading times down.

For the record my avatar is 80x59 pixels and is about 5.01K.
