Cheats for games running on the Hard Drivin' Hardware are not working. I'm getting an error as I start the game. Because of this error, the cheat menu for all games running on the Hard Drvin' Hardware that I tested including stun runner no longer shows up and is disabled by an error.

Also, some of the cheats on war gods is still not working. Yes, I'm using the latest rom and CHD file for latest set War Gods (HD 10/09/1996 - Dual Resolution). The only cheats that is working are the infinite time and the hit anywhere cheat. The all other cheats such as Infinite Energy P1, Infinite Energy P2, and Finish this Round Now are still not working. You should take a look at it again. You will see what is wrong when your try activating some of them.

Thanks for the report, I'll fix the hard drivin based games in the next version. I'll take another look at wargods too.

Bump for the MAME 0.163 cheat collection.

Quite a big change this time as MESS cheats are now included, had to do some rewrites to my tool chain and fix MAME so that all cheats can be in a single 7z file without causing problems.

I've now rolled the MESS files I'd previously released and some of my other MESS WIP into this release, sadly ROM cheats still don't work in the former MESS softwarelist games so many cheats will not work as advertised. So please don't report any problems with softwarelist games to this issue with slot ROM overwriting has been addressed.

Sorry I missed this report as I've been sort of mia for a few months, I've fixed it now but sadly it missed the 0.163 update.

Bump for the MAME 0.168 cheat collection

Sound test cheat for Raiden DX isn't working. Raiden DX uses similar cheats to Raiden 2, and Sound Test works fine on Raiden 2.

This is probably due to the fact when you insert coin in Raiden 2, the game goes to a golden "Start Screen" (This screen is also used for Sound Test), while on Raiden DX the game immeadely goes to Mission Select Screen unique to that game.

Thanks, I think adding them to raidendx was probably a cut and paste error as the credits address was wrong for raidendx anyway. I will remove them from the next version for the time being.

ROM cheats for software list games now work

Not sure If Its Just Me(tm) or not but I've been getting this error for Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder since 0.170


Just as a test since the romset hasn't changed since ever, I went back to 0.169 and everything worked fine, so... has something changed in between those versions?

Thanks for the report but ga2 works fine.

The error message is however quite useful in that it shows than you have a pre 0.169 or older cheatfile in you path as "maincpu.pb@20b430=04" is the old action of the P1 Infinite Lives cheat.

Do the following:-
1. rename the cheat directory if you have one eg mame\cheat to mame\cheat_old
2. delete any cheat.7z or cheat.zip in your MAME directory
3. copy a fresh version of the cheat.7z from cheat0172.zip into your mame directory
4. retry

Just a quick post to say that In Parodius DA! (MAME name parodius) and its clones, selecting speed, weapons or infinite lives are ok but invincibility is the only option that does not work.

Thanks for the report - the memory addressing was changed in MAME, it has been fixed in the cheat collection for the next release.

Also now includes a few JSON files from crazyc - these will obviously only work from the plugins cheat engine.

Thanks for the report, unsure about the infinite force field cheat as looking at it if it ever worked it should still work (so I've not even tried it).

The Invincibility cheat pokes the program code and although it does change the code 0.175 just ignores it - the memory system has been messed about a lot with recently and it must have broken something.

However, if you use the Invincibility cheat with the "plugin" cheat engine it works just fine....so a +1 for the new engine!!

it's been months and still no cheat to play as bosses in Crazy Cross or Taisen Puzzle Dama.
