Clones are not added although sfiii3 codes are the same as those in sfiii3a etc so its just a matter of copy and pasting and changing :sfiii3: to :sfiii3a: etc.

To play as Shin Akuma in SFIII 2nd Impact, two values needed to be poked otherwise you just ended up playing as regular Akuma. The other characters in the game only need one value to be poked to play as them.

If anyone uses the codes now, just add them to the end of your cheat.dat.

I've had trouble finding the Background Modifier code for jojoba so if anyone manages to find it, post it here.

Unfortunately, his codes are incomplete and have wrong format.

Code: Select all

:jojoba:00000000:203520D:00000058:FFFFFFFF:Infinite Stand Power PL1
:jojoba:00000000:203562D:00000058:FFFFFFFF:Infinite Stand Power PL2
The length of the stand gauge is different among the characters. 0x58 is the longest but it is clearly over-power for many characters.
Different stand gauge length is changes in jojoba (in jojo, all characters has equal length) though.

Code: Select all

:jojoba:00000000:0203520D:00000058:FFFFFFFF:Infinite Stand Gauge PL1
:jojoba:00010000:02035211:00000058:FFFFFFFF:Infinite Stand Gauge PL1(2/2)

:jojoba:00010000:02035631:00000058:FFFFFFFF:Infinite Stand Gauge PL2 (2/2)
2nd code is the capacity of the gauge.

:redearth:00018000:206A8C7:00000099:FFFFFFFF:Maximum Level PL1 (4/4)
It's too wasteful because you can pack the code.

Code: Select all

:redearth:00300000:206A8C4:09999999:FFFFFFFF:Maximum Level PL1
Change to 32-bit code. 1 code ONLY!
But it seems "Maximum EXP". In this game, "EXP" is the same as "Score" so that should we add it?
Becaues "Score" code except sports, table game is ignored in many cases.
If it conflicts with the database rule, he must make "1 Hit to get Maximum Level" or other code without "EXP".

Code: Select all

:redearth:62000000:0000000:00000000:00000000:Power Orb Slot 1 PL1
:redearth:00010000:206A8CD:00000006:00000000:Orange

:redearth:00010000:206A8CD:00000003:00000000:Purple
:redearth:00010000:206A8CD:00000002:00000000:Black
:redearth:00010000:206A8CD:00000001:00000000:Blue
Why do you fill with 0x00 in extend data field?
Yes, it's wrong.
The cheat engine calculates a value based on data field and extend data field.
If the value in extend data field is 0xFFFFFFFF, calculated value is always the same as one in data field.
But in other cases, it may work out unexpected value.
Therefore, you must fill with 0xFFFFFFFF if write the value in data field directly.

Code: Select all

:redearth:62000000:0000000:00000000:00000000:Power Orb Slot 1 PL1
:redearth:00010000:206A8CD:00000006:FFFFFFFF:Orange

:sfiii2:00018000:20142C3:0000000E:FFFFFFFF:Play as Shin Akuma PL2 (2/2)
IT NEVER WORKS!
Why do you add link and sub-link codes for THE COMMENT CODE?
I can't fix it because I don't know his intention.

I kick against his code if add into the database without any modification.
And if he can, he must fix and re-post.

By all means fix the format of the codes and some of the values. I don't mind at all.

I don't perfectly and completely understand the way MAMEs cheat engine works so edit the codes as you please if you are going to add them to the official cheat dat.

I used to hack codes for the Playstation and N64 with the Action Replay Professional so thats where my experience comes from.

People make mistakes and I am a person.

I got the names from the game. Whats wrong with that?

Why not change ALL references of Evil Ryu to Satsui no Hadou Ryu if you want to be true to the original names and stuff?

Pugsy, please suspend these code.
SSJVegeta wrote:I don't mind at all.
No, please mind!! Why has "wrong" code still been posted ? I think anyone don't care about the code itself, just like you.
And I have taken pains with these code in the database when I re-search.
Therefore I throw up to reduce wrong code.
So I recommand you to learn the format and other rule of MAME code BEFORE search the background hacking.
SSJVegeta wrote:I got the names from the game. Whats wrong with that?
Translated information is not aware of original. You know when you see original comic with Japanese though.
Therefore I throw up. I don't like "wrong" Japanese and information spread around the world.

Also you, SSJVegeta. Please learn basic formats and rules.
It's in fact that your code has wrong things so that we have to point out.
If nobody throw up, he gets carried away and may repeat posting wrong code.
Over and over again I say, I'm having botherd these code and I don't like to add to the database without any checking.

same place as ever...you normally need to press TAB to bring up the menus, F6 is not normally used for that.

F6 is used as a quick disable all cheats button - If you play Wonder Boy or Super Mario 1 (or others of course!) you have to do this or the health/time won't be able to count down at the end of the stage. After that, you hit F6 again to get your infinites back!

I wouldn't mention that word (starting with 'K') around any MAME forums. MAME++ and MAME32k are illegally built on MAME and could end up in a flame war. All I will say is they should work just like normal MAME would (both players would have to enable the same cheats or it will go out of sync).

Using MAME32k for anything is just ludicrous; it's ancient! It's a wonder those old programs haven't just disappeared from the net. That includes ePSXe, NeoRAGE, Nemu64, NESticle and the MAME 0.3x BETAs too. They were good once, just like the Pentium 60 when it was new. Time to upgrade.

You could do it on 0.64 but not on 0.117
