The best place is the 1000+ .c files in

\src\mame\drivers

You can also start MAME with the -debug option and type 'memdump filename' to save a copy of the current memory map to a file called filename (don't know whether the 'current' refers to just the current paging though)

There are a lot of systems in MAME a lot only have one game though, and the RAM can be spread out in different places with ROM code between across multiple CPUs and of course there's also paging to deal with.

It's these reasons why external cheat programs are unfortunately never going to be an easy option of general purpose MAME cheat finding - due to the vast amount of offsets required for full MAME coverage and of course these offsets will be tied to a specific MAME compile. All the platforms with lots of games like NeoGeo & CPS1/2 have been in MAME so long that it's easier to find new cheats by flipping back to the old cheat engine.

For that game the RAM for cheat purposes can be found at 104000-107FFF.

Use the built in debugger cheat searches....it's much easier than using external prgs.

Ah colour, 0 to 3fff was for mono. RAM is RAM....whether it's used for tiles is unimportant as it's likely that it can get used for other stuff too.

It should be 0 to ffff according to CI in the debugger for wscolor

I don't understand why you ask me and then say I'm wrong, surely you can work these out for yourself now.

Mono = 16K RAM
Color = 64K RAM
