having trouble with mame 32 cheat plz help me?

Press TAB
select 'cheat' (highlight it and press enter)
select 'Add/Edit a Cheat'
press 'A' (to add a new cheat)
press enter (to enter the newly added cheat)
Enter/edit the cheat
Press Esc
press 'S' (to save the cheat)
and then it's just a matter of enabling the cheat

Hey guys i DON'T see anything in mame 32 that would enter codes like that... CAN SOMEONE PLZ BE A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC?

ok i went under tab and cheat/ add new cheat and i put in the values but nothing happened, can someone please explain to me exactly how to do it step by step if it's not too much to ask? Sry for bein a n00b im just trying to learn... thanks in advance!
