cheat for mame 0.128

I have read every article and FAQ and can not get this working.
This is what I have
mame version .128 complied with hiscore diff
XML Cheat Collection for MAME 0.130u2 (tried both the 7z and zip version). Unzipped the files and placed the cheat.zip (20.6 MB contains xml files) in the same directory as mame.exe. Changed cheat from 0 to 1 under CORE MISC OPTIONS in mame.ini. Ran multiple games, no cheat when I hit tab.
Ran mame.exe from command line with -cheat so I could see output and saw this:
error parsing cheat expression "maincpu.pb@E018=01" (invalid memory name)
The numbers after the @ chanages according to the action node in the xml file.

The 0.130u2 XML cheat collection won't work with MAME 0.128, there was a major change in 0.129u5 which is what you are seing.

You should upgrade to 0.130u4.

Well I guess I am not crazy then. Got some games that will break if I upgrade, guess no cheats for me then. Oh well.

Where do I download the MAME 0.130u4 file at??

Everywhere I go there's a Dat file & a Zip file..that dosn't have the Files with the roms folder & other stuff

Why would you be looking for a version in cheat files...?
