Mame Cheat Editer of game list

If you are having problems finding or using cheats for an Emulator (particularly MAME/MESS) or have found a trick that you wish to share this is the place to do it. But please read the Cheat FAQ first.

Use cheat.dat or lastest Mame game list to generate cheat gamelist is better ?

Type the following at the DOS prompt :

mame -listfull * > mamelist.txt

Then run CheckCDB (available under the "utilities" section of this page), and remove from mamelist.txt the games that are mentionned as missing in the generated fixed.cdb file ...

If you find another better solution, please let me know ...

I use latest cheat file....
C:Mame32>checkcdb cheat.dat

Retrieving MAME's informations : Found 3123 games.
Retrieving clones informations : Done.

Statistics for CHEAT.DAT :
Number of :
- Games found : 3078
- Correct cheats : -10091
- Ignored cheats : 6340
- Total cheats : -37510
- Errors found : 11492
- Unwanted games : 0
- Bad game names : 46
- Missing games : 59

Job done, in 00h 00m 56s 63".

Wow,Correct cheats is -ve.
I check fixd.cdb to find that it only fix long name of cheat.
My wip of cheatediter :wink:

I'm not sure to really know what you intend to do with this program, so I'm waiting for further infos ...

If I'm not wrong, it's a Delphi program ... So, I could help with the code if you need any help ...

Also note that with my "powerful" computer, I shall be able to test it :smile: Anyway, I've noticed a small "bug" : the frame that displays the list seems to be to small, and it'd be better if you could use "Courrier New" font to correctly align the texts ...

Last thing : I hope that you are happy with your "Corporal" promotion :wink:
