Again I haven't _really_ tested these, but they seem to work well. The latter is kinda fun. I'd recommend editing it in the cheat editor, and designating a key to activate it. Each time you trigger the cheat, the last player to score a basket will become "on fire" (granted no one else is on fire).

I seriously applaud this work. Getting cheats to work on a Williams game is difficult to say the least (it's the biggest example of a driver whose cheats for the clones are considerably different from that of the parent). Note how long it took for someone (stephh) to finally get infinite time cheats for the MK games.

So, have you done the same thing for the clones?

What I'd also recommend is that you make similar cheats for all players and not just one, for parity's sake.

That wasn't that difficult : the only needed thing was mainly to have appropriate ROM cheats (which didn't exist when the games were first released - during MAME 0.36 beta cycle) ...

Then, as nobody wanted to look at them (but always seeing the requests), I decided to run the games with the debugger and fortunately, the assembly code wasn't too difficult to understand ...

Now I admit that the main part was to check ALL clones/revisions (because they use different addresses in ROM) ...

Anyway, now that such cheats have been found, I hope that I won't have to look at the MK games again ...

For an old-style comment cheat you should omit the leading colon. It might be better to use an equivalent new-style comment cheat, like so:

This is so that your colons in different cheat lines will line up properly.

P.S. I'd like to also add notes about two to four byte cheats (where you change two to four bytes at once), but I'm not sure if they byte-swap in Williams games. I think the Guide might help.

Yea, I'm really new to this and honestly what you said is over my head :) If you can tweak them, that's cool - they seem to work for me.

Here are two more for Maximum Hangtime. Assign a hotkey to the first one, enable it after you score a basket, and your team will have "Team Fire" for the rest of the game. The disable team fire is kinda buggy, but it does the job if you accidently "Fire-up" the wrong team.

Apologies for bumping an old thread.

It's just I've been looking for on fire codes for a recent mod called NBA JAM REWIND that adds Michael Jordan and Shaq back into the game and I discovered this thread, however the cheat code for last person to score is on fire didn't work. However I managed to get it to work by changing it to.

:nbajamte:00000000:21D56C:00000004:FFFFFFFF: Last player to score is on fire.

Tested and working on nbajamte rev 2.1.

This cheat really needs to be added to the cheat.dat.

Hopefully someone can one day figure out how to just apply it to player 1 and not all 4 players, including AI.
