first, if someone wants to know the sega master system code i say in the example from before i found it, is that:

is for use in kega fusion emulator or in a real pro action replay cartridge.

00DFFB:01 the game looks right and not in 3d

copy and paste this inside one ".pat" file with the same name of the space harrier 3d or 3d sms game rom you have.
yeah, is a universal code for all 3d sega master system games like i can see...

back to mame, do you remenber that thing in mutant fighter dople ganger code i cant put the "set" option in the code because the code remains "on" in the memory?

well like i imagine, is a fail from my mameui v126, because i see another style fail with other game.
so the dodple ganger code can be maked two times:

one in "set mode" and the second in "on/off normal mode" for can be selected as "dople ganger himself" or dopleganger change enemy body versions (like i explain some days ago).

like i remenber i have the samurai shodown 4 select player body?? code, and the only secret char is zankuro. but unfortunate causes the same bugs like the actual cheat.dat cursor code with him...

when you play with zankuro the cpu enemy is always haohmaru. this is maybe because the game try to search the enemys order and happen this, or maybe is for other same style thing... (really i dont know).

in other games like xmen children of the atom or voltage fighter gowkaiser you can imagine what fails and try to found one code for repair it, but in this not, because you not see what demons works bad, is like art of fighting 1, same problem when you try play with bosses that causes crashes when you select one boss in one stage, but in others stages works ok... :( sorry.

maybe is something like the samurai shodowns 1 problems with amakusa, the game add some rare instrucctions for that player and this causes the problems when you play with him...

in samurai shodown 1 if you enabled/disable the code or use p2 select player body code in diferent moments (beetwhen rounds or others) you can make the codes works and ends the game. of course amakusa not have ending, but you can see the epilogue of amakusa destruction that loads always for all the players, later the game crashes because amakusa not have end.

but with this samurai shodown 4 i dont know wath happens, because i only find these cursor codes and normally one body code allows you to change player beetwhen rounds (round 1 you enable and in round 2 works and the player appears) but in this samurai shodown 4 this not works! ??

i have the p1 code from before, so i find today the code for p2... and i can only discover these code... (in the "very slow search" mode).

the only thing that works is enable first the p1 code in select player screen, disable, and enable p2 select player code, for can play zankuro vs zankuro "2 players versus".
this is because perhaps p1 code not are compatible with p2 code, this is really rare...

another same style code "kof94 repair stage code". after several attempts i finally do it without any fail (you have to look very fine all those codes enabled for the test, because maybe your jump not are the super jump, or you have all ok but not have the boots... and appears some others bizarre fails like that :P, because is not one only code).
but finally works perfect, only one thing fails: the super sonic music dont sound :(.

can this be found? maybe.
but in the other side you know, is cool can play the game with the stages music and not only hear the same "super sonic tune" all the time and in all the stages of the game... :P

i have also the game in genesis console, and i supposed that the masked boxer appears in both genesis and arcade versions, but this is not true... these boxer only appears in genesis.

?how i find these main/special shot codes? by count the number of shots you shot and without enemies in middle of the screen if you can. you earned a code what no shot, modify them, !this is the correct code!.

also remenber be careful, because these codes can cause the game slowdown if you shot too much or enable the 2 shot codes at the same time. i better use only one of the two codes.

i dont want that these codes remains only in my cds, i think that this is absurd and a pity...

well i not have too much time right now, but here are some codes for one single game that i have traduced.
the first code is for select player (in pairs) code, the second for select body with some palette fails, and the other codes are from another days of im boring ;) :

the bad is that all those things need several explanations :P...

pfff, this game are the worst nighmare for discover one select player body i see never, during YEARS sometimes i try finding this, always without results. but FINALLY one day i can discover this jewel :P.

this is very rare, because i never can find one single select player code that works perfect, i only find this code, and other "single player body code" that cause you lose the palette color and accidentaly you be pink.

with this select player "pairs" code, now finally we all can select p1 and p2 betty doe at the same time.
i try to do this because i really love this game... in arcades i finish the game with all players several times and of course i play several cool versus against people :).


so with this you can finally fight in equal conditions!.
before this, you have to fight with the two best players of the game "betty doe and john smith", but really betty doe is sure the best character from away!, compared with john smith or else other character in the game. because her shots perfect "in line" all the shots, and with all the weapons, and also move really fast. so are a pity that the 2 players cant choose the same character... until now ;).


notes about the select player body (pink) code:

like i say before, i discover also one select player body code, but is buggy because you lose your palette color and be pink!.
also in some cases if you enable one body and select some characters in select screen, maybe you not look pink, you look like you are these player you select in the select character screen (for example dweeb).
but in true as you can see, you have the betty doe body and habilitys...
the rest, as tv intros or ending are from dweeb because you are dweeb but with other body.


apart, i try to find several times one "select stage code" but is really impossible!
can some genious find it?.

this is one pity, because for play one 2 players versus in the cool and hard/small "airplane stage", you have been forced to select dweeb in one of the players, if not is almost sure that these stage dont appears almost never...

you CANT play as mr acme:

if you think: is possible to play with mr acme in arcade mode?. sorry but the answer is NO.
when i try it, this things happens to me:

i try to play as mr acme in p2, by use select pairs code in data 70 (p1 john smith vs p2 mr acme) and p2 select player body code in john smith body (because mr acme use john smith body as base) or else other body.

you can do this in two forms:

1) enable in the tv screen and with this only changes p2 char to mr acme, and the p1 enemy dont change!, is rare but true.

2) or also, you can enable the 2 codes all the time, so p1 changes to john smith and p2 changes to mr acme in all stages.

...but unfortunate the result always are the same: you can only play one stage or 2 and after the game say "mr acme won" the games crashes and exit mame32.


and if you try to use only in the mr acme stage, the result is that all the elevators are off for you (perhaps is because you are mr acme?), and you cant continue.

also you can then enable only when you reach the roof. in that case you can destroy the helicopter and the game says "mr acme won" but in the "staff", just in the moment that the game load the shots of the ending of these character, the game crashes because of course mr acme not have ending.

so is impossible play as mr acme right. first because not have body or of course ending, so is not a really cool cheat...:P and second because the game ALWAYS crashes for play with him.


if you want to try it and see, well these are the codes i use:

:outfxesj:00000100:208E57:00000006:FFFFFFFF:p2 is mr acme (in john smith body) 1/2:keep enable this code all the time. with this 2 codes you can play as mr acme. but as him not have body, you must use this select player body pink code in john smith (the body him use as base) or else other body if you want.

:outfxesj:00000000:20807B:00000070:FFFFFFFF:p2 is mr acme (in john smith body) 2/2:enable only in the tv screen. you only need enable one time or when continue. this are the select pairs code, but do it in that way and you only changes p2 to mr acme, and not the p1 enemy.


maybe works if you change the select pair code to other else data position (without mr acme) just when you kill p1 enemy, but of course this are really heavy and boring to do :P. but i dont know other form for do this work right.

i put first the p2 codes because the normal is play the game in p1.

this codes includes "set" and "select body" options inside, and two codes:

- select player body

- and select who controls p2 (cpu or p2). (in "set" for avoid put "on" because this causes the char fly and cant move)

p2 john smith appears pink because the "p2 select body pink" code, also appears with a few big sprites because you change the big helicopter sprites to normal char sprites by the code...
but the code works perfect!.


--instrucctions--

use it for 2 players story mode "versus", and enjoy the last fight beetwhen p1 vs p2 in the roof.

or maybe you want to use it for p1 alone in arcade mode, for fight againts mr acme in john smith body (controled by cpu) and not in the helicopter as always ends the game.


but in all cases, remenber enable it only in the end part of the helicopter, be carefully and enable it only when the helicopter are more or less in the middle of the screen, or maybe p2 falls out the roof!.


--others & advices--

apart, i try found one code to restore mr acme from john smith pink code form, (for avoid use save states and restart again the stage if you enable the codes by mistake :P ).
i have here the code, but dont works too fine, so i recomended you dont fail with the moment of enable the codes, and that make one save state JUST in the moment that mr acme talks to you in the tv, before stage starts.

if not maybe when you load the state the stage doors appears CLOSED and you cant continue. so save state BEFORE the stage starts.

also you can make save states in the end with the helicopter, but you always have to load first the "mr acme talking in tv" state before, wait that the stage starts and then load the helicopter state. do it in that way and you can use save states without problems in the end ;).

--conclusion--

the idea of all this mess is more hard to explain that to do it.
but with this codes is very easy start one play cool of "p1 vs p2 in story mode".

with p2 you are all the enemys of every stage, and also in the end when the p1 reaches the roof, the p2 have the last chance to kill him.

if you love this game a lot like me, try it with one friend and sure you enjoy this!.

for do it, like i say before i recommended you use:

- use "activation key" for easy enable the "control codes"

- use "activation key" for p2 can enable "change mr acme to p2 john smith" code.
because p1 is armed with the rocket! and p2 drop from the skys...
sure the winner are the player that can keep the rocket launcher. so p2 have to decide the exactly moment for drop from sky and try to puch p1 for stole the rocket or kill him if not have much energy in that moment.
but remenber that helicopter have 7 shots, if p1 destroy the helicopter, p2 cant drop from sky so p1 wins.

- do save states for avoid make errors with the codes. and do it better before stage starts, for avoid fails like that the doors you already open, appears CLOSED when you load the state, and you cant continue because that door (this happens in mr acme stage).

- and limited the p1 credits to "9". so if p2 kill the p1 9 times, then p2 is the winner of the versus. but if the p1 finish the game, p2 loses. you know, something like that...


i hope in there exist players that love this game as much like me, and that loves play 2 players versus, because without cheats this game is really cool, and in special challenging against other human player. but with this codes is even more funny!, so enjoy! ;)

like im a really good player with this awesome game, here i have one special trick:

with some players (like betty doe and some others) you can run, jump, and shot one rocket to down. so the rocket send you up (of course you not be damaged) and you can take advantage of the other player by deceive to follow you, and drop him these big explosion of the rocket laucher. this is one very cool move. but only can be performed with some few of the chars, betty doe is the best char in the game and also the best for do it easily.

by the way, i found this with my cheats. these are the list of the best chars of the game:

1 Betty Doe (the best char from away, with several diferences compared with else other char)
2 John Smith
3 Bernard White
4 dani & demi (twins)
5 Dweeb
6 Eve
7 Professor Ching (the worst char of the game from away, with several diferences compared with else other char)

i do this list based in my experience with the game. the best player must have 2 things:

1 - fast moves (but be controlable) (this is the most important thing of the two!)

2 - good aim.

but the best of the two things is can move right, because all chars shot better or worst, but if you cant move right, you lose sure against other char.
most of the chars shots bad (not put in line the bullets like betty doe do) but move good for can avoid the enemy attacks.
and also if your player is uncontrolable when run you have a serious problem.
this happen with eve and professor ching that are totally uncontrolable! :P and of course the worst chars of the game because that.

some explanations you must know:

the twins and dweeb are to close and are almost equal of bad chars, they are too slow.
dweeb: if you shot dweeb, him take several time to rises and this are really bad.
so twins are only a little more better than dweeb, twins includes the advantage of can grab 2 weapons, but if you move too slow those 2 weapons not are enough help for be a good character.

bernard white is the char of the surprise. him look like a bad char. but not, is the 3 in the list because maybe him are too high, and this causes several problems with shot rockets to roofs, or for be one big target for enemy shots.
so if you have been shot by the enemy with the machine gun in a close place... is almost sure you received a lot of shots in combo. so you must try avoid these situations...

BUT in the other hand, bernard white shot almost perfect, moves very good for be a big body char, (up and down platforms very fast) and also have several strength. one punch or kick of him quit much more life than else other char. and these attack send you away because their strenght.

i see that list with my things, and i hope this helps you to know who are the best chars for play 2 players versus or play in arcade mode. ;)

pd: at the end, i dont copy the codes for the 2 versions of the game, because there are several codes and are the SAME codes for the two game versions...

EDIT 13 9 08: unfortunate i dont have time right now :P, and is a little offtopic, but i post 2 cheats for genesis that i have in a really old pro action replay code book and my old papers. these are rare select player codes for art of fighting & tmnt tournament fighters. you can see in here:

Had a quick look at the character pairs cheat...seems you could easily make character cheats out of it by using masks.

hi to all!. long time no see you guys!. ;)

i been busy with real life things, studies, playing games, etc.
but i also have time for find many genesis/megadrive pro action replay codes for my post in gshi.

anyway, today i only can find codes using an old mame32v94u1 version that i have. then, i play they on the 120u1, cause that version have much better graphics quality.
a pity that the old cheat search engine just disappear... thats cause now i cant find codes with the new mameui32.
apart, guys theres exist one tool for can convert the codes from old to new system or vicersa?

in my oppinion, is a pity that the mame official cheat file, looks like it dont have none "rare cheat" codes inside.
not only like some of my codes, i mean the others people codes too... for example that double dragon 1&2 select character morphin code, maked by other guy. no doubt a very interesting code.

yeah, i know they not are "true cheats", in the terms of not be "infinite lives", or "inf weapons", etc.
and that sometimes some can cause glitches. and be "buggy" codes...
but anyway, im pretty sure that if you like one game, then sure that you will be very happy of found rare codes, avaliable for your favorite games.

but for not be mixxed with the rest of normal cheat codes, those rare cheats maybe could be included at the bottom of the cheat list avaliable. noticed as one "extra rare cheats" section.

i respect how the official cheat file was given. and im not the boss here...
but i want to make here my formal petition, for this kind of "rare cheats codes" can be taken in consideration.
cause honestly, many of them are very interesting. or at least curious of see.

even i like the idea, of they could be included in one kind of "special rare cheats file". in addition of the "main cheat file". or something like that... compiled for all those interested in see rare cheats codes.

of course, the idea is take only those rare but useful codes.
for example: my follow ninja gaiden codes for select char are a curiousity only, that dont works right. cause this game saddly dont leave you play as enemies correctly. but the palette codes for change the character colors is a rare and useful/interesting code.

one last suggestion: one mame addons compilation?:

i see recently on gshi, the release of one cheat tool compilation. that have many tools merged into one.

apart, i see with sadness, that many people in other forums that even have/build their own arcade machines, knows mame perfectly, but... never use or know cheats!. :P how could it be?!

thats why i been thinking, in how we the cheat finders, can make that more people learn and enjoy of use the mame cheats?.

my idea, is merge into one single file, some mameui32 addons joined.
imagine that a lazy guy see this official addon... that fast and easily can install the last versions of the most interesting and used mame addons... like the mameinfo, history.dat, and the cheat.zip. all together!.

showing even a picture of every addon working. and a explanation about for what is every addon.

that could be officially maked. first talking with the others addons makers, and releasing it just some time after the new addons updated was released separatelly. as gshi does.

i know that this means more work... but can be a good chance of give more importance even to the cheat file. cause at this way, more people will be accustom to use the cheats with mame. cause this could be attractive, and very easy to use.


the only problem i see here, is that this addons compilation, must have also one internal instruction. one that auto-enables the mame cheat option ON in the emulator.
cause if not, the cheats dont appears when the user load one game and open the mame menu. where the cheat option must appear.

anyway, i think that put that "auto-cheats on" instruction, can be very useful too if was used in the normal cheat file release.
for make it even more easy to use. (always if this "auto-enable cheats on" option, can be possible of be maked).

well, this mame codes only works in the old mame32 versions, just before the 126.

like many already know, in the 126 version the pro action replay cheat system was changed by other totally different. and saddly, without the cheat finder engine!.

2) how edit your cheat.dat file?:
---------------------------------
the new mameui32 from v126 uses one very rare "html like" file for every game title. but the old cheat system uses only one single "cheat.dat" file with all the codes inside.
so you only need to uncompress from the zip, and open it with notepad. then add this codes by copy-paste at the end.


the old mame32 emulators that i use:
------------------------------------
i use mame32 v94u1 for can search the codes. it have a perfect and fast search engine. however, the games graphics details here are poor...
so i use for play the mame32 v120u1. with good graphics details, but a poor cheat finder engine (it was changed in that moment, before they simply erase it).

the truth is that right now, is very hard to find old mame32 versions, or their rom sets...


method for search select char/palette codes in double dragon style games:

i find a method that can be used for search a "select char code" or a "select palette code" in some of those old beat em up games, at double dragon style. (where the 2 players are almost identical).

so i will explain it, for elseone interested.

this give me results with others games like shadow warriors, street smart, crime fighters, or the combatribes.
but saddly only in some games with luck, this codes can be useful for select the enemies. and not only the players characters.

thats the case of double dragon 1 & 2. and almost with the combatribes. where you can play as the enemies, BUT sadly the game crash when you use one and be hit by other enemy. (even exits from mame!)

for begin, cheats for one of my favorite games...

shadow warriors/ninja gaiden. (select character, and other stuff).

saddly, the select char code dont works too fine in this game. :P in fact, is more a curiosity than a useful code... definitively this works better in the double dragon 1/2 games. but anyway, is curious to see.

the more useful codes, are the invulnerability (no flicker) and the palette codes, that allows you to change the ninja colours beetwhen the 3 possibles...
p1 color (purple), p2 color (red), and ninja enemy color (depends of the stage. (grey, white...) but keeps the same value in else stage where appears ninja enemies.

those stages that dont have ninja enemies, can have a more ugly palette.
also i find some curious enemy codes. and a select stage too...

enjoy they ;)

i hope this will be useful for someone...

method for search select char/palette rare codes: (double dragons select char method)

i like to explain the method that i use, for find this kind of rare select char codes. is easy but need some patience... :P

after do some game test. i discover that as i imagine, in some beat em up old games (like double dragon etc, where the player 2 is the same character, but with other colour palette) the game have listed first the players chars, and then
the enemies/objects used in the game.

so, like in this games there not exist more playable characters than the p1 and p2 characters. or doesnt exist a select player screen for cheated the cursor, then you only can use the follow search method:


1) starts a play in a double dragon game style, with the player 2 only.
then start a cheat search and introduce "01". saddly you cant add none other values to that search, cause you cant select other char for the player 2.

why i make this?
well, because counting that the player 1 is the character 00, then the player 2 char must be character 01. and then, comes the rest of enemies and objects from the game...


2) so now, you must go to the possible cheat codes list. a big list with maybe 400 or 800 posible codes... or in separated list :P.
now you must looking for those codes that have the data 01 number. ignoring all the rest.

but first, see if you have other cheat codes for this game, like infinite lives, etc. look if those codes tends to use always the same initial adress for that player 2 codes...
if the answer is yes, then you can aim for take all the codes with 01 that uses that adress.

remenber that for search that adress codes in that BIG list of possible codes, is much more faster use the "page up/down" keys of your keyboard.

if you dont have any clue, cause the p2 cheat codes you have uses diferent adresses, and all they are different... then you must simply aim to collect all the codes that have 01 in the list of possible codes.
i hope you have patience pal... :P

3) when you have all the possible codes that have 01, SAVE THEM!!.

4) now edit the cheat.dat file for replace that codes with "00000001" to have "00000000". now save the cheat.dat and load again the game.
note: save the codes is very important, cause if you make some trys with they, maybe the game crash and exits mame, and then you will lose all your codes!!. so, save they before proceded!.

5) now start to try the codes... first try a bunch at the same time if the game dont crash. if the game crash, then you will be forced to try them one by one, until you find the damn code who crash the game.

6) have patience doing this... i know that this method is really annoy, and takes many time. but with some patience you will find interesting results...!. in 1 or 2 hours, you can find that cool code that you always wanted. and that you dont know how find.

with this method, you can find interesting things like...

-one select character body code, that maybe allows you to play as one enemy (with some luck) like in double dragons. or at least a code that allows you to select the player character beetwhen the few player chars avalaible.
-select palette codes.


some examples:
-------------
i find select character codes for some games... like the double dragons, shadow warriors, crime fighters 1, the combatribes or street smart. however, only some of them as the double dragons games, let you play as enemies correctly.
in the combatribes, you can select else of the 3 players chars. and also allows you to play as enemies pretty well. HOWEVER, saddly the game crash if you are hit playing with one. (finding a invulnerability code, it could have some use).

apart, using this i also can find palette codes for some games. like shadow warriors, crime fighters 1 or even blood bros.

now some notes/advices for can handle better these dd1&2 select char cheats...

select character code notes for double dragons 1 and 2:
------------------------------------------------------
the follow notes explain important details/instructions for use this select char codes... (the most important was already noticed with the codes).

-you need to use both "select char" + the "no flicker" code, for make the cheat works completely.
so, i try to insert this "no flicker" code into the select char cheat for it always work, and have both codes together. however... i really dont know how demons do it. :P so finally, i have to post they separatelly.

-in dd1 the select char codes cause some little colour glitches in all the levels. (it starts to fail in the stage 1 boss zone). this happens no matter in what moment you enable the select char code.
however, you can use the select stage palette codes for manually fix it. in dd2 the select char codes dont cause this levels palette glitches.


-i try all the possible data beetwhen 00 until FF, and those are the only chars that i find. theres not exist that dd1 "Green Abobo" from the mountains level. cause it are only one stage palette...
so, you can select him during that level. using only the select char code.

-willy not works, cause use a rare auto-attack with one machine gun. or a way of working that only the cpu can handle. a pity... but is still usable if you take one whip, a knife, or pull/take barrels. baseball ball not works with him.
however, notice that like him cant attack others, the only way is first use other char. take the enemy whip, and then change to willy char.

-when you select a char, you will see that some enemy palettes dont load if that boss not are on screen. this only happens with willy and Jeff. but dont worry, use my select palettes codes for fix it.

-this select char + no flicker cheats, slowdown a little the game. but still will be playable. anyway you always can use the "overlock cpu 0" mame option, for make it goes more fast!.

where is this? is the key up the "tab" key (the tab key is that one with the 2 arrows in some keyboards).
push it and there appears the master volume option. now use the cursor keys up and down for choose different configuration options, until you will find the "overlock cpu 0" option.
now just set it at 160% for can play both ddragon 1&2 games with the normal faster speed that they have, and not slow.

note: if you play a 2 players game and use the palette code too, dont pay attention to the slowdown of the begin. thats because those residual intro enemies. after pass that zone, the game will go more faster.


-if you play a 2 players game, and one choose one of those abobos. try dont are near that the other player. cause abobo will grab the other char, and then both disappear. but they are there!, you must only press the buttons for escape, and make they both appear again.


-the enemies dont have all their moves. and only works with the 1st attack button.
for example: abobo dont have their grabs. and willy even dont works without get a whip. but after all, is a true miracle that almost all the enemies can be playable!. this is a very rare and lucky thing!.

apart, thanks to this ddragon search method that i find, now i learn how find this rare select character code in others games... however, usually the only playable chars are the player characters.
for example: other game that also allow you to play as enemies is "the combatribes". but saddly, the game crash if you be hit.


-the second button dont works with none enemy. even with those that have the correct sprites for that attack, like for example jeff or dopple ganger.

-the whip used playing as one enemy work always. the baseball bat sometimes dont makes none damage, even if it hits the oponent. but this problem only hapens, when you use one char that never uses a baseball bat, like abobo.


-the "no flicker" code, is need for show perfectly the chars. however, you must disable the code after pass one stage and take one elevator.
until you dont dissable one moment the code, you cant continue playing. this happens in both dd1 & dd2 games. however, it looks this only happens with abobo and other rare chars... for example: if you play as williams you dont need to disable the no flicker code for continue. (already commented with the cheat).

-for some curious raison, the willy bullets in final stage dont hurts you if you play as abobo or others. in the same way that none of the enemies can be hurt by their bullets playing normal the games.


-theres a curious effect when you use the palette codes...
is that the intro is repeated 2 times. and the second time, you are almost out of the door, and one of the enemies turn to fight you. but them, it freezes!.

so maybe theres a way for avoid they freeze, and can fight with they in there. like in my double dragon 2 save marian previous cheat.
i have even, one old code for open the dd1 door too. but then all that enemies disappear. so, until now i think that in dd1 they are only images... but after see that enemy turn for go to the chars, now im not too sure...


-dont enable the select palette with colour 1, during the intro. cause those enemies dont have that palette and disappear. wait they go away for enable that palette colour 1. or use other colour (already commented with the cheat).

-dont enable the select palette code at the intro. this will make that the intro appears 2 times, and then later you cannot pass stage 1. so better enable the palette code always after the intro ends.
however, notice that this fail only happens in dd1. so, in dd2 you can continue to stage 2 even if you use the palette codes during the intro. (already commented with the cheat).


...to be honest, im not the first who makes that you can play as the enemies in dd1&2. theres other guy that was the first on this forum.

that guy finded a incredible code, that make you can morph into one enemy if he grab you!. a incredible thing. however... saddly it have 2 fails...

1) that you cannot select what character you want in else moment. just morph to those who attack you.
2) the most important, theres a big problem with that code, that makes that in a certain moment you cant attack the others enemies like when you enable the code.

by the way, i also find that code by luck after doing many adresses search.
but anyway is hard to see, that it works only when you are attacked/grab.


how i find this?:

maybe some cheat finders think... how the heck you find this select char codes? hehe

well, first i find the code that let me to choose the character.

by that i think this: "if the game have the chars in order (maybe) then the 01 char will be jimmy, 00 billy and 02 and the rest, the enemies...".
and yes!, thats exactly how the game was programmed.

so, i do a search starting with p2 jimmy and saying "01" to the cheat search. but i cant make more searchs for it, cause i cant change my p2 character...
then, i see the list of possible codes... with almost 800 codes! :P, but that almost all ends on "00", cause i just starting the search...

finally, i save all those codes with the value "01". and then i change the value to 02.
and i start to test they. until one of them let me know that i have raison with this cheat search idea. :)

however, not all was done... cause the char looks flickering. and ruins the whole cheat... :P
but after more time searching, and also some luck, i have sucess in find the "no flicker" code that i need for fix it. ;)

however, saddly, this slowdown the game. thats why i recomended to use the "overlock 0" option from mame set to 160%.

(where are that? just push that key up from the tab key, and down the escape key. then you will see the volume option. now use the cursor keys for change beetwhen the options until you changes that volume option to the "overlock 0" option).

note about the dd2 select enemy codes:

this codes can be used for create one good ending on the final stage. how?

1) you can use the select enemy 2 code with Williams & Marian, and enable it just when you fight against Willy and one second enemy in the end. changing that 2nd enemy to marian for save her.
2) you can directly change the dopple ganger final boss to marian, in the same way as before. but using the select enemy 1 code.

the ending music starts to sound always, after you kill that enemy and saves marian. with the only exception of the final boss dopple ganger, that have one laugh programmed for when he dies.
note: you can see my video on youtube, doing some of that experiments. just search my user "cabo-hicks" or the name of the video: "double dragon 2 save marian" for see what i means.

ps: sorry the big delay for posting them... :P but i been really busy with many real life things and studies. :P

apart, i been working hard almost 2 weeks for test all they well, and for edit/translate the codes at this way.
also, i was finding some new codes that i add here, like the palette codes and others. for covering perfectly the cheats for boths double dragons.

this codes was specially dedicated to the double dragon fans. and also for those guys who know and enjoy this old games in their childhood.

please, can someone find a combatribes invulnerability code?
this could be very useful for use they with my combatribes select char codes.

i have to test it more. cause translated/posting all this i lack the time.
but aparently, in combatribes you can also play as else enemy pretty well. HOWEVER, when you are hit, the game crash :(.

thats why i think one invulnerability code can be useful for it. however maybe is hard, cause this game looks that not have a flicker moment after be attacked... :P

You could try PowerDirector 11 or Free Studio Free AVI Converter for your videos.

thanks for the suggestion, i will try it. i use fraps for save the video, however when i try to convert they to a lower file (the fraps video file for only one minute recorded is... GIANT!! (2 or 3 gb or something like that!!) then the quality becomes really poor.
