Emulator Cheats

Ok, here's a preliminary Nintendo NES MESS XML cheat collection.

There's probably cheats for something approaching 1000 games, I've munged several uncredited sources of GG and PAR codes to make this collection.

If anybody has a collection of NES PAR or GG codes and would like to share then please get in touch...

Hi Pugsy. I've downloaded the NES cheats and placed the cheat_nes.7z file in the same folder as the MESS executable, but I'm not able to access them within MESS. I created the nes.ini from the info provided in the "read me" file, but I still don't show an option for "Cheat" in the on screen menu like I normally see in MAME. Can u provide some help or insight as to what I may be doing wrong? Thx in advance!

I have really enjoyed these cheats. Could you anyway re-create the xmls taking into account that xml does not allow for '&'? Currently, all games with a '&' in the description get a cheat xml which is not parsed properly.

a replacement '&'->'&' through game descriptions when you generate the collection would magically fix them

This is the softwarelist compliant MESS cheat collection for the Nintendo NES Console.

Unfortunately I can't guarantee any of the cheats will work as well as MAME cheats.

If a game has no cheats, another region version of the same game might have cheats. In
the main USA versions of each game are most likely to have some cheats.

Master Cheat Credits

The cheats in this collection are a mix of GG and PAR codes culled from various sources,
which I've converted into standard MESS/MAME XML format.

I'll try to credit the cheats individually in the XML code, unfortunately the various
sources I've used have little or no credits. If you think a cheat was created by you
let me know and I'll add individual credits and/or to this master list.

I'm not 100% sure the following have created cheats in this cheat file, but in all
probability they each have many cheats in this collection.
