Yes, I don't think there is a number of bombs per-se.
It just remembers where each of the (6?) bombs is. Either in the boat or not.

So you could make cheats to return the bombs to the boat. But not infinite bombs..

No piece cheats, you need to build up a piece by defining each block in a shape (and clearing the others :). And for each rotation iirc. If anyone wants the addresses just shout..
