Emulator Cheats

I can select no cheats for Asteroids. It's not working for some reason even though I downloaded the proper cheats (cheat130u2.zip) and put the cheat.zip in the main directory and pointed MAMEUI64 to the file under Show Directories for Cheats. Still won't work and if I go Options > Cheat file nothing...

Thanks - if I use Mame 1.26 will most of the 1.30u2 roms work?

I can't get the cheats to work under MameUI64 0.130u2. I put the cheat.zip file in the same directory as the .exe, set use Cheats in Default options and cannot get the option to cheat when I hit TAB while running a game.

Any help appreciated.
