Aristocrat MK5 coin modifier
These cheats were made because I got sick of having to insert coins (while keeping a real world setting e.g. for a 1 cent machine, AU $1 buys 100 credits, NZ $2 buys 200 credits, US 1c buys 1 credit or 5c buys 5 credits) due to the lack of an emulated bill acceptor. Have fun and gamble responsibly! ...

Re: Cheats don't work on Street Fighter Alpha/zoro [mame 0.198]
Is it an unlock type cheat? I don't play the SF series, but some cheats need to be enabled on boot, or might even work at the title screen before you go to the character select.

Re: [UMK3] Fix for 'Get over here' ?
It sounds like a bug from using the same sound slot for both the voices and the blood splatter. I haven't played MK in years, but does the same happen with Smoke (cyborg) or does the lack of a voice/mechanical noise mean the bug doesn't happen? If there was a way to use a different slot it would pro...

Re: Aristocrat MK5 bypass self test/win limits
Each game uses different locations in NVRAM unfortunately, however I can upload NVRAM images if need be. The only games which cannot be played without modifying the MAME source or changing the BIOS ROMs are jungjuic, penpir2 and goldpyrb as the BIOS they use requires a comms system called QCOM which...

Aristocrat MK5 bypass self test/win limits
Now that the slot machines in aristmk5.cpp are playable (despite the NOT_WORKING flag, most games are fully playable except for the bad dumps, although some NSW (New South Wales) and the Venezuelan games will hang after a while and require a reboot via the F3 key), is there any chance that the self ...

Re: Handheld lcd game cheats in mame.... is it possible?
It should be possible, at least with simple things such as infinite lives/time/score etc., LCD handhelds are usually nothing more than 8-bit systems with primitive graphics. Other cheats such as invincibility (e.g. ignoring collision/hitboxes) would most likely have to be done as ROM cheats, which C...

Re: Invincibility for teddy boy blue Mame 0.37 b4
My guess is that the OP has an obsolete mobile device which can't handle anything more recent without frame-skipping using modern MAME (the iMAME4all builds use 0.37b5 for weaker devices, as opposed to 0.139 or so (later?) for the better systems). Most people ditched their Pentium IIs last decade, s...

Re: Tekken series move/animation IDs
As requested recently, here's a recap on Tekken 3 [tekken3ab], replacing Jin's standard Rising Uppercut (Wind Godfist) into an Electric Wind Godfist. <cheat desc="Jin - Replace Rising Uppercut with Electric Wind Godfist"> <script state="on"> <action>maincpu.pw@8ECF8=8003A800</act...

Re: Easy Electric Wind GodFist move for Tekken 3/Tag - Pleas
The 1 punch was just a test to see if move substitution would work. A better alternative would be for me to assign the EWGF so it will always come out instead of the regular version, as so: Tekken 3 (TET2/VER.B) [tekken3ab] (I have excluded the word 'Asia' since it's actually a World set; Asia would...

Re: Easy Electric Wind GodFist move for Tekken 3/Tag - Pleas
After messing around in Tekken 3's ROM code [tekken3ab], I now have Jin performing an EWGF by pressing 1 while standing still, however this means that you can't use his basic left punch in-game. In fact, *every* move/animation in the game can be performed by doing this, regardless of which character...

Re: Dear Pugsy - TTT MAME Cheat Request - please?
That would be interesting, especially if it allows Jin to enter/stay in Devil mode without having to team up with Gramps. My guess though is that the Devil Jin moveset is a flag* which is only triggered when teamed with Heihachi, and that the Devil Jin mode is simply a timer like the 1+2+3+4 superch...

Re: Tekken 2 - Character code trigger
Bump. Did anyone ever have the time to look through the program code for these triggers? The code itself remains in a way similar to the 113-840 Ultimate Kombat Kode in MK Trilogy on the Nintendo 64, in that it has never been documented on the internet. It also seems that the older codes disappeared...

Tekken 2 - Character code trigger
On the character select screen, the game flashes LEARN THE SECRET CODES! , however, not all of these codes have been documented, even as of 2010. An example of a button code is, insert some credits into the machine to make it playable and get it to the title screen, then enter a certain code, and th...

Re: Tekken series move/animation IDs
Sorry I've been away for so long. With those above button cheats, I also made these for Tekken 1 and 2 a long time ago with simple 1+3 and 2+4 button throws in the .dat format, but I didn't include them of course since they weren't of any real use. However, the reason I was trying to find the move c...

Re: [snes] Not so big conversion thread
About time SNES cheats were made to a half decent standard. I made a few ages ago in the .dat format but of course, the only thing that ran properly back then was Super Mario World (I used to make the cheats by hand as the format was human readable, unlike the binary crap SNES9x and likewise chucked...

Re: Please read this FAQ before posting a question.
The FAQ is looking pretty archaic in this day and age, being last updated under Version 0.8 : 09/02/02 . Should this topic be split (remove the 2009 posts), locked and archived with a new FAQ put in its place? I can see references to DOS MAME, MAME32, MacMAME, 0.37 beta cycle, hiscore.dat, 'too rece...

Re: Tekken Tag play as UNKNOWN the final boss :)
Hmm, OK... sometimes it works, others not. During the 'partially emulated' Tekken Tag days it crashed every time (probably just the emulation at the time, and lack thereof); it also crashed instantly just now when trying it on 0.131, but I ran MAME again straight after and it actually worked until s...

Re: Tekken Tag play as UNKNOWN the final boss :)
Not possible on the arcade version unfortunately, all you'll get is a Namco BSOD if you select her in-game, or even in the demo CPU fights. Must be some additional code when she does appear on the final stage (note, she also has no tag partner, could be an interesting cheat if possible to do). I mad...
