Doubts about "trainers" and cheats for neo-geo

They have told me that you can not have cheats for neoragex but that you have "trainers"for neogeo games and that you can use them as cheats it is that true?, How do you use them, please i need to know how to cheat neoragex games as i can not play these neo geo games in mame (because ram memory problems) thanks.
