Well, seeing that MacMAME v.59 came out, I guess I should resume my cheat finding...

Remember the game will automatically end once someone wins the majority of the rounds set in your machine settings, or barring that, the absolute last round (Round 4 in a 3 round match), with the winner moving on (both lose if there is a tie).

As for most Neo-Geo fighters, changes occur between rounds. Each character has a unique logo to denote rounds won.

This, of course, sets the level you are on, which is supposed to change between matches. Thus, switching it on during the fight with the value 0x08 and winning the match will let you see your ending, while setting it to 0x08 between matches (even as you are saying your win quote from your current match) will make your next match against Kain (or B. Jenet during Survival Mode).

But now, you ask, why the maximum at 0x0E? You do face everyone in survival mode. Just remember that the last level you face in story mode is 0x08.

If you want to find out who you face so that you can draw a specific person, PM me. Each character in story mode has a fixed list of six opponents to fight before facing Grant and Kain, while the order in which you face each character in survival mode is also fixed.

Coming soon: TOP mode codes. Adjust how long your TOP bar is and where you TOP-IN. I just need to rebuild my MAME to add NG home version support before I do that, since it is there that I can adjust the length of my TOP-bar.

As MAME v.60 is out, I will be once again recompiling MAME, and probably going to get Pugsy more time for a v.59 cheat DB release.

In the meantime, as promised, Garou TOP bar cheats. All Garou TOP bar cheats only work in 2P mode (not in story or survival mode) and change between rounds.

The length of the TOP bar is the number of continuous chunks (each life bar has 15 chunks) that the TOP bar has. Home versions of Garou can set this either to 1 chunk, 3 chunks, or 5 chunks by pressing up or down, and that's how I found of this cheat.

The "starting point" is counting from the left. Thus, setting the cheat for P1 tells you at what point do you TOP-IN (if you set it to 01, for example, you TOP-IN when 1/15th of your life bar is gone), and setting the cheat for P1 tells you when you TOP-OUT. Also, if the length of TOP bar you set is longer than the distance to the right end of the life bar, the furthestmost possible legal TOP bar will result (0A for 5 chunks, 0C for 3 chunks). Thus, the starting point won't matter if you set the entire bar as your TOP bar, for instance.
