Here's something interesting. Although I could write the cheat in the old format, you know me, I don't want to.

This selects the nth opponent you face in 1P mode. I haven't tested this with home version, which may have a survival mode.

AFAIK, 09 will make you face Krauser, 0A Geese, and 0B Alfred. Beat Alfred and beat the game.
