i think in the older versions of mame, the cheats saved on exit. but now seems not now. i hope there's an option for saving cheats.

Nope, if you've made a cheat in the cheat finder than you have to save it manually. It's no biggy to be honest, you get used to it.

i never create my own cheat. because i've no idea how to do that. i just downloaded it.

If you don't make you own cheats then I don't understand why you want to save the cheats - they will be the same cheats that were loaded in last time.
"Saved on exit" was a setting in old MAME to save any cheats that you found whilst using the cheat searching menus.

If you mean, you want the cheats that you enabled the last time you run MAME to be enabled automatically? Then that has never been a thing.
