Have you ever had the thought of beating the game with a certain team, but were unable to do so because you were not skilled with the characters that were in that team? One possibility (and admittedly, the easier one) is to use the "select team" cheat, but another (and more complicated) one is to use these following ROM cheats here.

What these do is to alter the makeup of the teams... somewhat. It won't change the teams that the CPU will battle in (or the arrangement of the selection screen), but what it will do is alter the parts in ROM so that you get some special ending if you beat the game with them.

Here's an example to clear things up. Suppose you change the very first address in the very first team (normally occupied by Kyo) so now Iori is in the spot. Now, if you beat the game with Kyo, Benimaru, and Daimon, you get... the custom team ending! WTF! So how do you get the Japan Team ending? Uh... you changed Kyo to Iori, so try selecting the team of Iori, Benimaru, and Daimon...

Note that unexpected side effects may result if you attempt to have two endings that require identical characters (up to the order of these characters)...

The ROM location is in yz98-p1.160, so it may differ in the clones. Using the debugger to search for a string of consecutive integers (starting at 00) should do the trick, but try 000306 (Kyo, Terry, and Ryo) and then looking backwards until you find the string of consecutive integers should lead you to them.
