Emulator Cheats

Hi,

I have mame32.exe and cheats.dat in the same directory but cannot seem to activate any key for cheats??

I am looking for cheats to Commando as this resets to the beginning of the game and im using up too many virtual credits!!

How do cheats work, and what cheats are there for this mame version and games?

The first thing to mind is check you have cheats enabled, head into the options menu then default game options & go to the miscellaneous tab & check the box next to 'enable game cheats' some people forget this step or miss it entirely if they havent used a 32 version before. Hopefully I guessed this was the problem correctly otherwise it may seem slightly condescending.

yep i did this straight away hoping for the cheats....
