I'm using MAMEUI32 0.129.

I just downloaded what I thought was the latest version from http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/arcade/mame.html.

I have the cheat.zip in the same dir as my mame.exe, and when I open it with cheats enabled, I get the parsing error I posted above. When the game starts, the TAB key will give me the menu for controls, etc., but no cheats.

You should bookmark MAMEUI's homepage. 0.129 is sort of old now and in the large group of MAME versions that weren't very good.

FYI - [maglord] and [maglordh] cheats are nonfunctional. And, as long as they're being fixed, the "select character" names should be "Dragon Warrior", "Waterman", "Poseidon", "Shinobi", "Samurai", and "Raijin" as per the post how-to-play screen.

Thanks for the report, it will be fixed in the next release along with the character names. As a quick fix for the non-working cheats in the mean time you can swap the maglord and maglordh files around.

Infinite Lives for the game Astro Chase[Max-A-Flex] (1982) doesn't work. I'm only stuck with 3 lives on any level I play. I would like to see infinite invincibility add as well.

Megaman2 max charge cheats still have the temp0 conditions left out.

Needs to be this, otherwise your charge is always minimum.

Thanks, I added it as was - fixed them now.

XML format obviously does not care about whitespace, but I do need to add them in a way that assists in long-term maintenance.

When I added XML passthrough to my converting tool I purposely made it so it only passed through properly spaced XML so "<action" must be preceded by exactly SIX spaces so there is a standard. I normally catch most of them when adding them but missed these.

Adding the function to my cheat file checker to test for incorrect number or spaces and soft tabs for new type cheats has been is in my todo list for a few months now (must treat it with some urgency now as there maybe some others I've missed).

"<action", "<item", "<output", "</output" preceded by exactly 6 spaces
"<script"/, "/<script>, "<parameter", "</parameter" preceded by exactly 4 spaces
"<cheat" & "</cheat" preceded by exactly 2 spaces


UPDATE: I've updated my cheat checking tool and so I've fixed all the whitespace issues for the next release for passthrough XML cheats.

Sorry. I'll try to keep that in mind when I post. I was never one to care to much for detail in spacing. I just figure if I can read it, it must be good enough.

Normally with it enabled + infinite power and energy you need just hold the down arrow and tap one of the following:
ctrl or alt or space bar.

and one of 3 super powers would activate.

It works fine. You're doing it wrong. It's d,d+[A or B] for DMs and d,d,+[C or D] for SDMs. A,B,C, and D being the buttons on the Neo Geo.

The Ultra/No Mercy/Mini-Ultra trigger cheats don't work for human players.
