Emulator Cheats

What I am contemplating is subdividing gameboy.dat (and thus supergb.dat and gbcolor.dat) into smaller pieces, organized in some logical manner. What do you think?

The MAME cheat database is big, but there is only one file (even if it isn't complete yet) ... So why should it be different for MESS cheatd databases ?

Don't be a chicken ;-P It may make life easier in the short term....like subdividing mahjong cheats and neogeo cheats ( cough!! ) but it the long term it's better to combine them 'Now!'.

For the record I spent several hours making a program to convert GG format GB cheats to MAME/MESS cheat format.....unfortunately the program and the C source completely slipped my mind when I decided to format the laptop HD a forthnight ago, I'm still a bit peaved at that

As far as 'console' MESS is concerned I think I'll take on the Atari Lynx cheat file (gotta do a MAME update first though I guess.....)

I know I have various files at the moment, but at least they are up to date (my turn to cough ) ... And remember that they are only WIP files (until I merge everything in a single cheat_nf.cdb file) ...

Speaking of the consoles, do you have a copy of a file named (IIRC) colecodb.zip ? This would save me time in checking everything ! Thanks by advance for what you can do ...

As I've said before I never delete much.... A quick search of my email archive shows a file you sent on 5th June 2000 called Col_002a.zip. Time to start a MESS cheat file page then I guess....

I'll then be able to verify that the CRC matches the ones for MESS ...

I know...in fact the sfzch cheats are still in my cheat file, and they've probably worked with MESS in the past.
