Ah, I was born in the 1970s...so I'm old but not as old as some - but older than I'd like.
Been at this lark since I got my first cheat poke printed circa 1985 for the c64.
Yes, it me as a child in the picture...won the fancy dress competition in a silver jubilee street party - I think it shows in the picture that I wasnt very happy with the tramp getup.
Tramp(uk)=hobo(us)
And to return the favour (and probably to annoy me) how old are you?
Nice to know a bit more about the person collecting cheats, battling ShimaPong, and shunning fighting games all this time :P. I'm slightly younger than you, born in 1981, and have been hacking games since the early 90s starting with game genie. I grew up in arcades due to my parents being addicted to gambling, and most casinos had decked out arcade rooms, so I've put several hours into many of these games I hack. Anyways, thanks for sharing as there isn't much information about you out there (that I'm aware of at least).
Haha, "shunning fighter games"...you see you do know me quite well.
Pretty much my era for arcades was for games released between 1978-1989, so I bypassed the fighter mania and simply never got the "appearance of " mindless button mashing. But I was never that good at games, which is why I started making cheats when I got a c64 and when MAME came out I got to revisit those games that defeated me back in the day in the arcades and give them the finger.
Congratulations to your website, Pugsy! You really have a lot of cheats story to tell. I had a remarkable time here too, getting many cheats I could never have imagined. Every cheat achieved, especially from MK games was a victory and very valued by me. Great part discovered by Abystus and you.
I will never forget when you finally got "Clue cheats" in MK1 and MK2, using some save states that I provided, I was looking for this cheat as crazy at the time.
Hahaha
It's nice to see you and Abystus talking like this, it's always good to know a little more about the greats cheats finders.
Abystus and I talked more frequently now, thanks to your forum. With your forum I had the opportunity to meet nice people.
PS: Pugsy, I was also curious about your age,
taking into consideration what you started in 1985 (year of my birth) and your avatar.
hehehe
