Marvel Land, tug-of-war

There are two things, first is the time cheat, it doesn't appear to work.

Second is a rather specific cheat request that may be deemed too finicky and trivial to bother with, but without such a cheat it does leave the less skilled player helpless and stuck.

It's the part of the game where you are thrust into a tug-of-war, which is played by pressing the fire button repeatedly, as fast as possible. I've tried several times, can't do it.

I'll upload a video later tonight to show the exact place I speak of.

Thanks for pointing out the fault, I've fixed the time cheat. The time cheat for the marvlanj clone works btw.

Thanyou Pugsy for correcting Time cheat (I wasn't sure, thought the other cheats i'd enabled might be counteracting the time cheat)

Right video is here for anyone with time on their hands. It's not a major cheat required(as in 'invincible' 'infinite lives' etc.), it's a tricky little cheat for a particular moment in the as you'll see in the video:-

There's no hurry, but I felt I had to raise the issue on behalf of all other hapless players whose fingertips aren't as deft as they used to be

I've requested a 'Tug-o-War' cheat before too. I'd (still) like to see this one.

Either as a Rapid Fire cheat or a way to turn off/slow down the Computer opponent.

a tad O/T... Maybe I can look into the Genesis/MD version and see if I can make some codes for that.

Glad I'm not the only one! Gives extra weight to the request!

If it was just a bonus screen, that you can 'pass by on the way to...' I wouldn't ask for a cheat, but the fact is you're stumped if you can't do it. It blocks any further progress, and none of the mainstay cheats help in this case.

Gaius_4, have you had a genuine legit try at it? i thought i could muster quite a tempo with my index finger (enough to win sprints in 'sport games'), but not enough for this!

If by "Legit" you mean my hand hurt like crazy and I didn't even come close... Yeah.

And -iirc- don't you have to do that 3 times? That Queen (or whatever she is) is all hopped up on sweets. That's what gives her her insane speed and strength.

I've found the Tug of War win Now! location, just got a bit of fine tuning to do with that and some other cheats (level select, don't fall down when walk off platforms and invincibility against rollercoaster signs). I wasn't even good enough to get to the Tug of War without making more cheats (rollercoaster signs and then platforms) and I had to make a round cheat because the game crashed while I was poking memory for the tug-of-war cheat first time round. I'll post them tomorrow most likely (stuff to do now).


BTW, the invincibility cheat for this game isn't meant to be perfect - it's the ingame flicker invincibility cheat without the flicker. Problem is making the invincibility better may cause the player to get in some sticky situations.

HAHA! Exciting news indeed!

I wasn't being serious about the invincibilty. it is entirely expected that certain things cannot be covered without creating errors elsewhere.

the invincilbity cheat as it as is quite sufficient. it's very easy to do the basic jumping required, as is avoiding the overhanging spikes once you know where they are that is!
